Well, Teresa is now offically over the hill, having turned 40 on the 22nd July. We had an informal affair at home with our new WA friends and a couple of eastern-state blow-ins. I cooked a delicious 3-meat roast under the roasting hood (after the rotisserie broke in half early into proceedings) and we had a good supply of salads and desserts supplied by generous guests. With around two dozen adults and similar number of kids, the entertainment area was fully-populated. Adult guests positioned themselves near the gas heater or the wood fire while the kids kept themselves amused with night games.

Teresa enjoyed herself more than I've ever seen her enjoy herself before, consuming a sizeable quantity of bourbon before latching onto a bottle of Asti Riccadonna like there was no tomorrow. Her brother, Darren, made the trip over from Dubbo and our Melbourne-based employer, Jason, timed his regular Perth visit to coincide with the event. All-in-all, it was an entertaining evening with Teresa finally heading to bed at around 4am. A special thanks to those who helped on the night, and with the clean-up on Sunday too! I still can't believe there was no vomit... or none that I've found yet, anyway.
