| The boys competed in the Eric Walter Memorial open, run by WAJMCC at Chidlow on Sunday 5th April. In varying conditions (everything from mud to dust), both boys achieved solid results and displayed marked improvement over last season's performances. Curtis raced in the 65cc C-grade division, alongside some riders who compete in A or B grade at their club level. In a field of 30, Curtis finished a consistent 19th/17th/18th across his 3 races, showing an average of 20 seconds improvement from lap times recorded during 2008. In the newly-renamed 50cc demonstration division (formerly division-1 50cc) Mitchell finished 4th/6th and a close 2nd in his 3 races (after leading the race on two occasions) in a field of around 20. Overall, a very good result with more positive signs of things to come. |
